About us

We were formed in 1988, out of the amateur drama scene in High Wycombe. We started with classic Shakespeare , King Lear and Richard III, then some Ibsen with Hedda Gabler and we then won the contract to perform at the Cliveden Shakespeare Festival with Taming of the Shrew,Henry IV and the Tempest. Other highlights that followed were Journey's End and Twelve Angry Men and performances at the Salon Varieties Theatre in Spain.

We then evolved into a touring company and took
The Birthday Party, A Christmas Carol, Mad Dogs and Englishmen, amongst many others, to local venues and then on to Spain.

In December 2016 we re-formed and re-launched in Aylesbury, with a fully costumed A Christmas Carol followed by a Shakespearean revue 'Bottoms Up'. Both were sell outs at the World's End Theatre in Wendover. 'Journey's End' followed as we commemorated the 100 th anniversary of WW I . We produced The Waterside Ferstival with over 250 performers and our most recent project was an especially adapted tour of A Christmas Carol.

Our key principle is to provide high quality theatre to audiences in non theatrical spaces. We are not a drama club. We recruit actors and technicians on a project by project basis and have a rigorous and professional approach to the work.

...the traditional image of amateur dramatics is of a fixed membership putting on large cast plays, mostly to family and friends...one group has broken away from the stereotype by staging riskier works with invited actors and directors, chosen strictly on merit  - so bringing new ideas and a fresh approach...

Ubiquitous has an unwavering focus on the quality of the work, and this comes through time after time...I was astonished, amazed and delighted, our space was transformed for the evening by the quality of the acting and the commitment of the whole company...
